NC State Student Media earns 21 awards from NCCMA in 2015

NC State Student Media's organizations and contributors won a combined 21 awards and honorable mentions in the North Carolina College Media Association's 2015 student media competition.

Agromeck brought home 11 awards in the Yearbook division:

Best of Show, first place

Student Life Copy, first place, Nikki Stoudt, "Smart eating"

Student Life Copy, third place, Elizabeth Moomey, "Funding the future"

Sports Copy, third place, Elizabeth Moomey, "State of flux"

Sports Copy, honorable mention, Jon Stout, "Packing for Omaha"

Student Media Board of Directors' March meeting rescheduled

The NC State Student Media Board of Directors' meeting for March has been rescheduled. The new meeting date and time will be Tuesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in Witherspoon 356, which is located in the African-American Cultural Center.

At this meeting, the board will consider recommendations from the Annual Publications, Broadcast, Business Office and Newspapers advisory boards in appointing the top leaders at each organization for the 2015-2016 academic year.

NC State Student Media seeking applications for 2015-2016 organization leaders

NC State Student Media is now accepting applications for editor and general manager positions for the 2015-2016 academic year.

The deadline for applications is at noon on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 307A Witherspoon. Members of the Annual Publications, Broadcast, Business Office and Newspaper advisory boards will interview all applicants between Friday, Feb. 6 and Monday, March 2. Specific dates and times for those meetings will be announced and advertised in advance.

Spider Bags and Eternal Summers to headline WKNC's Double Barrel Benefit 12

WKNC Double Barrel Benefit 12 posterWKNC 88.1 FM will hold its twelfth annual Double Barrel Benefit concert Saturday, Feb. 7 at Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh and Saturday, Feb. 14 at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro. Lincoln Theatre will host Spider Bags to kick off the festival and Cat’s Cradle will feature Eternal Summers for the final night. The full lineup will be announced in early January.
