Student Media receives national awards

In addition, WKNC was a finalist in a national competition and the Technician podcast broadcast on WKNC received recognition

At the national convention of the Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Advisers and College Broadcasters, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Oct 25-28, the NCSU Student Media received national recognition and students attending the conference did everything from participate in critiques to teach sessions.

Designer/photographer named finalists in national competition

The Associated Collegiate Press announced that a Technician designer and a Student Media photographer were finalists in the ACP 2007 individual competitions. In addition, Windhover, the literary and arts magazine, was named a finalist in the national Pacemaker competition.

Matt Moore, a sophomore in mechanical engineering, and Katie Graf, a senior in communication, were named as finalists for photography and design.

WKNC, DJ named among 'best' by 'Indy'

N.C. State's student radio station took dual honors in The Independent Weekly 's annual "Best of the Triangle" reader survey.

WKNC 88.1 was voted best radio station, earning a top slot for the fourth straight year. Sam McGuire, on the air as Bigfatsac, was a finalist for best radio DJ.

Technician receives Silver Crown; Agromeck staffers receive national recognition

N.C. State's daily student newspaper, the Technician, received a Silver Crown, the second highest national award, from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association at the CSPA convention March 17. "This award indicates that your publication ranks among the best in student journalism," said Edmund Sullivan, executive director of CSPA.
