    Last Friday, Agromeck had the pleasure of talking to two seniors in the College of Textiles about a project that played a large role in their time at NC State—The Pillowcase Project. Sara Lewis, a senior in fashion and textile management, and Carly Kvietok, a senior in fashion and textile design, work diligently every semester with a team of volunteers to create playful and fun pillowcases for the patients at the UNC Children’s Hospital. These two Park Scholars shared the origins of the project, and how it has grown into something big and meaningful to their lives.     On Assignment | Alyssia Hardy

    Wednesday June 13, on Miller Fields, Alyssia Hardy, a sophomore in electrical engineering, gives a military salute to Photo Editor Kaydee Gawlik during their portrait session. Hardy is an active member of the Idaho Air National Guard, and receives special permission from her unit captain to attend NC State University while on duty. While pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, Hardy also makes time to be a part of NC State Cheer, and was a part of the team’s win of two national championships in Daytona, Florida at the 2018 NCA Collegiate Cheer Championships.     On Assignment | Leadership Retreat

    This past week the 2018-2019 Agromeck leadership staff took a trip to Bald Head Island, North Carolina to partake in our annual leadership retreat. The staff spent four days on the island, courtesy of our book publisher, Balfour, building team bonds, brainstorming ideas for the next book, and sharpening our skills in our weaker areas in order to return to Raleigh stronger than we left it. Martha Collins, the Agromeck adviser, led the new leadership staff through a series of activities, including simple getting-to-know-you questions and a critique of the previous year’s book.     Today, on the steps of Thompson Hall, writer Eliza Eisenhardt interviewed senior textile/materials science engineering major Brian Iezzi for Agromeck 2017’s March Profile.     “I’m not in stores yet, but after this maybe I will be!” -Joseph McRae     Today, on a sunny courtyard on Centennial Campus, Photo Editor Kai McNeil took Joseph McRae’s portrait for Agromeck’s upcoming issue, where he will be featured as our September Profile. McRae, a senior in electrical engineering, showed his latest androgynous apparel line at this year’s SparkCon. Editor in Chief Molly Donovan also tagged along for moral and technical support.
