The Society for Collegiate Journalists is a national honor society whose purpose is to:
- improve the quality of student media at the college level,
- teach the ethics, techniques and mechanics of such media and encourage student participation,
- and promote the understanding of and the support of freedom of student expression, including freedom of speech and press for all college students.
The NCSU chapter is an honorary, service-oriented organization that promotes journalism on campus and strives to create an environment that will encourage an exchange of ideas among members of the campus community.
